Pigeons for Sale

Because of the unexpected loss of my best friend and husband of

40 years, I will be selling our birds with the

exception of some of the birds that

I cannot guarantee will still give

fertile eggs.

The rest of the birds will be posted on IPigeon

in the next few months.

Some of the birds have already

been sold but most of them are still be available.

As time permits, I will indicate which birds

have been sold.

I would like to thank all of you for your kind thoughts

in the last weeks.

Young birds from some of the best pairs, although

unflown because of the circumstances,

are also available and the whole old bird team

will be for sale.

Welcome to Our Racing Pigeon Web Site!

So you can get to know us a bit, here is a brief history of Shellstone Farms.

As a youth, my husband raced homing pigeons in Mount Vernon, NY with the New Rochelle Homing Pigeon Club in Combine with the United Bronx and the Bronx Club. If anyone remembers the old City of Homes club, he also flew with them.

This all came to an end when he was drafted in 1965. Although this put a stop to his pigeon career, it was never far from his mind.

In 1973 we moved to Amsterdam, NY and became, of all things, dairy farmers. It was kind of "The Egg and I" except it was the "Cream and I". Two city slickers were suddenly in the dairy business.

Well children being children, ours came across all the old books, ribbons, diplomas and trophys that my husband had stored away in a box for many years and before we knew it, we were back in the pigeon business which once again came to a screeching halt when our house burned down almost 20 years ago.

In 2003 my husband retired from the Montgomery County Sheriffs Department and, you guessed it, the bug has bitten again.

We are now attempting to get back in the "swing of things" in a completely changed racing pigeon environment.

Here are some pictures of our place, loft, racing pigeons, links and some stuff that is just for fun.

As you can see, we have plenty of chairs, so just grab one and sit a spell.

Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we have enjoyed having you.

We are proud members of the IF (International Federation American Homing Pigeon Fanciers, Inc.) and the AU (American Racing Pigeon Union).

We hope you will enjoy the pictures of our Janssen, Jan Aarden, Van Riel, Grizzle, Black Diamond, Houbens, Hofken, Van Elsackers and Devriendt racing pigeon breeders.

If you click on the eyes , they will take you to pictures of some of our racing pigeon breeders.

We really love to have visitors. Pull up

a chair and sit a spell.

Please sign our guest book.

Thank you.

The two birds above are nestmates. The hen won 2004 Champion YB and the cock won the 2004 SCH Certificate Race by 15 minutes.

They were the only two birds we flew from the parents.
